pantherus pancolor, a subspecies of panther, severely endangered, only 100-180 exist in the wild, all in southwest Florida.
These magnificent animals are threatened by low birth survival secondary to lack of genetic diversity, habitat loss due to human encroachment, and road traffic deaths. Males require a 200 square mile area to range for food sources, and females range up to 70 square miles.
