Shadow is truly an experiment in working with negative space. The female form was cut out of two sheets of wax bonded together, becoming sort of a doorway into self. And her shadow was not blackened, but rather polished – just the opposite of what you might expect. The patina, too, was an experiment of blending green and reddish brown.
