Once upon a time we wondered about everything. I create my art to keep this magical doorway to wonderment open. I am drawn to imagery that sparks that feeling of unknown and mystery like cupboards, drawers or placing everyday objects.
My technique and materials are also very mysterious. I use primarily polymer clay with the ancient technique of millefiore. Tiny images that cover every surface of my sculptures inevitably make the viewer wonder “How did she do that?” You might find tiny corgi’s, butterflies, flying monkeys and many more hidden pictures on my sculptures.
The pieces that make me feel a sense of wonder and mystery are the pieces I am continually drawn back to. I want the viewer to feel that same sense that is reminiscent of the wonder they felt as a child when the world was new and unknown.
