The Polk County Sheriff's Office has had 13 deputies killed while on-duty, Deputy Sergeant Brown's full-body, standing portrait is the second of four that have been done to date, each is mounted in the middle of the sidewalk leading into and out of the department headquarters. The Sheriff wants all employees and all visitors to greet each deputy as they enter and leave the facility, Ronnie was killed by a jail inmate September 8, 2009 when he entered a cell to break up a fight.
