OFFICER RICHARD MILLER, A PORTRAIT

Edition Size: 1
Material: bronze
Size: life-size bust

RP Miller was my first partner on the Minneapolis Police Department, I worked my first shift on my very first night on the job with him on April 18, 1969; he told me many times in the following months that the most important duty every officer has is to make sure that his partner goes safely "home tonight." Rich was shot and killed on August 25, 1981 at age 59, five months before he was scheduled to retire and only three weeks after the department took his partner away. This bust was my gift to his widow, Lea Miller.
