This sculpture is about land stewardship. depicting that the earth is alive (via details on the base) with living organisms.
The farmer/gardener holds a handful of dirt, examining his soil. Around the base can be found examples of life, such as a nest of bunnies, microbes, roots, a shrew, and garlic plants. on the front of the base is the sculpture title, Honor the Earth, Protect the Soil.
