It was an unusual request. My wife and I were on a tour of China. One of the passengers in our party learned I was a sculptor. She said she had been looking for a small sculpture of a mouse for her kitchen. She looked all ariund Dallas, but found one that was way too expensive, She told me the price and I replied, "I can do better than that. Instead of sculpting a mouse with cheese, I wanted to do something different. The shapes of a mouse and a potato seemed to echo each other…and besides, the potato was edible.
As a side note, after I made a mold of the potato, I took the real thing home and we ate it. Nothing goes to waste!
