Salsa began her life as a nude in the classical contrapuntal standing position. Then she took on a life of her own, using the model's long legs and long red hair to full advantage. From the initial static pose the movement of dance began to emerge – her legs bent rhythmically, her torso twisted, her arms swung in wild abandon, her head flew back as her ponytail overcame the forces of inertia. Clothing and shoes, inspired by a Brazilian supermodel, naturally had to complement the pounding rhythms and movements of Latino music. Thus, Salsa was born.

Polychromed version (shown) called Muy Caliente, Muy Pcante (Very Hot, Very Spicy) also available.

EXHIBITED AT SIOUX FALLS SCULPTUREWALK, HOPKINS ARTSTREET, MANKATO CITY ART WALKING SCULPTURE TOUR
