I, Marcella Rose, describe myself as an accomplished painter, designer and sculptor who works in a plethora of art disciplines, am evolving constantly — and am passionate about sharing it all with others.
Marcella Rose traces her artistic roots and love for the natural world back to her formative years growing up on a farm in western Minnesota. After two years of commercial art education, she embarked upon a career in illustration and product design that took her to Phoenix, Kansas City and Spokane. Acting upon a long-held desire to focus on her core passions for oil painting, sculpture and jewelry design, she then moved to the Santa Fe area. More recently, she returned to the Upper Midwest and now resides in the transition area between the prairie and lake country of west central Minnesota.
Marcella presently is represented by galleries in Minnesota, North Dakota, Washington and Idaho. Her art mainly encompasses horses, bison, waterfowl and natural landscapes. This summer, Marcella received a commission for a ten foot oil painting, titled, "The Heat Is On" for the new Town & Country Credit Union in South Fargo. In January, 2015 Marcella was commissioned for the second consecutive year to design and produce a Gold Trophy Award, which was awarded to the Producer of the Year at the 2014 National Bison Association Conference in Denver. She was a featured artist at the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame Museum in 2013 and has participated in solo and group exhibitions around the Midwest, Northwest and Southwest U.S. Her story has aired on PBS (Minnesota) Pioneer Public TV's "Postcards" program. Recent press coverage also has included articles in various newspapers and magazines in the Red River Valley of western Minnesota and eastern North Dakota.
I am invited regularly to speak at schools, present gallery demos and to paint "LIVE" at charitable fundraising events. I teach private and group "Feminine Power of Art" workshops that, while instructing in technique, just as importantly are designed to inspire, empower and assist women to express their true selves in art.
