Growing up on a farm, in small town MN, Cindy knew the value of steel. But through exploration she discovered that there was rare beauty in it as well. At a young age she had a calling for taking something previously used and diminished and making it once again useful and beautiful. With time, this creativity has only increased and led her to be comfortable in every medium; whether it be cooking, design or painting, but something would always pulled her back to steel.
After taking some classes at a local art center, she was able to focus all of her creative energy into sculpture.
Her materials are steel, stone and glass.
With the constantly varied texture of steel, Cindy finds rhythm and likes to see where it takes her and what kind of art it becomes. She started incorporating kiln formed glass into the mix after designing a piece for a client. She fell in love with the color and the vividness it brings as well as the contrasting look with the steel. Her studio is set up to accommodate both the steel welding, cutting and construction as well as the glass design. It is located just outside of the city she resides in.
Cindy always enjoys working on personal and unique commissioned pieces.
