When I first sprayed the stone with water, I detected its beautiful green luster speckled with brilliant orange dots. I knew then I had to buy it. And when I looked at it more closely, its curving, twisting shape intrigued me. As I chipped away at the stone, a female figure began to emerge from within. Every day my colleagues commented on the piece's progression. As I neared completion, one person said, "that looks like a wing." Voila, that was the final inspiration. Once mounted on the elegant black marble base, my dove-like "winged Godiva" suddenly became a symbol of peace.
